I'm back to the grind. Well playing some more compared to the non-existent play for the last 7/8 months.

So I will be posting some hands and looking for some insight.

Just a couple of things that were going on.

1. Working hard to pay a mortage.
2. Working hard to make a house.
3. Working hard to pay a mortage.
4. Controlling a 2yr old.
5. Watched the Flyers lose in the Classic in OT. Still a great day and stadium.
6. Was praying for back-to-back WS championships.

Pretty disappointed, due to the fact that the kid woke in the middle of the night. I saw KQ off, pushed it UTG. Went to attend to the kid and got back and saw the final hand.

Plus BBT4 is pretty boring. The series is great and a big thanks to the people who put it all together. Maybe i'm just bored with tourament poker.

Played the Mookie last night. I got off to a good start. then went dead, expect, 2 preflop raises with JJ and 10s that went uncontested.

then at somepoint in the 2nd hour, i get AdKd, I make my standard raise, get a caller, and the button smash his whole stack, that has me cover by 100/200 chips or so. I call, and the other caller folds.

Happy to see that I'm ahead, until the magical 3 outer of the Q appears on the flop and its GG Zambia.

Dont know how much i'm going to be able to handle this in BBT4.

Borgata Trip Hand Conclusion

So, to finish the hand from Sunday, when I was down AC at the Borgata for the start of the of the 3k deep stack Main Event, I was able to get to the poker room to play.

Recap.

Sat down at $1/$2 bought in for $140 (I know its light)
Built it up to $190ish
I have been playing for 2+hours and have a good read on everone at the table. No one has been out of line, pretty standard stuff.

I'm UTG+2 or 3. That the only part i cant remember but I know it was semi-early position.

the kid of my direct right limps for $2, so I'm pretty sure only the SB and BB were in the hand.

I look down and see Ace of hearts and Ace of Spades.

I raise to $16, folds all the way around to the limper and calls the $14. Kid has been playing tight and solid. Has not been involve in many hands and stay out of trouble. At times, he look frustated, trying to make preflop decisions.

Flop was Jh, 8h, 3s

he checks

and I bet $26.

in about maybe 30 seconds, he re-raises to $200, putting me all-in. So the way he grab the two stacks of red chips, with both hands and aggressively put them in the pot, my stomach jumped out of my body and screamed "FUCK"

The check raise made me feel sick. I tank for about maybe 2/3 minutes thinking what he could have, to limp call UTG.

The hands that ran through my mind were KK, QQ, AJ, KhQh, JJ, 88. I ruled out KK, QQ, JJ, figuring he would at least put in some kind of raise, even if it was small. so I knock them. I didnt think he would call a raise OOP with 88, but it still sat in my mind.

So I eventually put him on AJ, KhQh hand and I make the call.

He didnt even wait for the dealer to finish dealing and slams top set Jacks over, to reveal that he had a lock.

Turn and river brick. And my Aces go down.

I posted this hand in the RC forums. I think everyone except for one person said, I have to call, no matter what. Stating that I lose more money overtime folding, to the check-raise So big time cold deck. Live poker is rigged.

Borgata Trip

my experience today from the Borgata....

I went down today for the start of the Main Event, pretty much just a chance to get out of the house and maybe play some poker....

LJ and Lucko, were playing but didnt get to say Hi, but was able to track their play here

Also, met $mokkee himself.... cool dude, who runs good at the cash games at the Borgata keep it up and nice talking to you. Hopefully we will get to meet again sometime.

I believe there were a couple of other bloggers there as well...

So.....

any way....
got to 1/2 table and only bought in for about $140.. built it up to about $190... been playing my TAGish style for the 2 hours I was sitting there and had a good read on everyone. No one was really out of line.

i'm maybe UTG+2 maybe 3... kid on my right playing fairly tight for the 2 hours that we have been playing calls 2...

i look down at Ace of hearts, A of spades. I raised and made it $16...

I just currently hit my longest winning streak, 3! Go ahead laugh.... hahahaha.

Right now the longest streak is 18. You have to get 27 wins in a row, to win the cash. 1 Million doll hairs, or dollars.

Twenty fucking seven wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crazy, Crazy.

Tonight, I will be playing my first tournament of the year. Its a freeroll, for a Borgata Main Event Seat. WCP is putting up the seat. The private tourney is on FTP. Get there! Looks like 650+ people are already signed up, with a couple of red name pros.

Hopefully, and God willing I take down this seat, i dont have to worry about airfare. A full tank in the "dad wagon" and we're there! Most likely I will not win the seat, I'm trying to get out of some family time, to go down anyway. Its going to be crazy, but I think i will know some people down there.

Cash games are going ok... its up and down, up and down. But I did take a small shot, at the next level. It took a couple of orbits, to get a feel, but ended up make a small profit, after getting cooler, twice for my chips. Crazy thing was that both times, my Aces didnt hold up... so sick.

Was offered to deal a private tournament over the weekend.

The tournament was held at private mens club in area. This was the first time that the club itself held a tournament like this but the members were mostly members of a private golf club in the area as well.

Going into the game i had no clue what was going on. No structure, no numbers of people, no info whats-so-ever.

I met the guy (John aka Hondo) who had ask the wifey if i would be interested in dealing the game, at a local establishment near the country club. We watched some college basketball, had some beer or two and then off to the club.

The ride to the club was about 10-15 mins away. It was basically a house converted into club, big basement, big front room, pool table, darts, shuffleboard, pinball, decent size bar. Your standard private mens club.

So walked in and introduced to the owner and supposely organizer. It was poorly organized and setup. So me and John had to set everything up. Nothing was unwrapped, everything was brand new, so all the equipment was nice and clean.

Not knowing the exact numbers, we setup four tables of 9 players, figuring there would be at least 35-40 people. Thats what they were expecting.

Final count 20 players.

Structure was a rebuy tournament. $75+15, with unlimited rebuys in the first 3 rounds, but you had to be broke in order rebuy (to me this makes no sense) and the rounds were 15 minutes long. It was super fast.

I think i might be missing a level but you can see it was a crapshoot and poorly sturctured.

My first table was the first to break, so i had some time to watch some of the play at the other tables and the play was just as bad at the those tables as to mine. Just horrible.

The final table was set pretty quickly and it moved even quicker. Top 4 got paid. with 4th place being kicked in the nuts, because the payout for 4th was less then $150 assuming you added-on with no rebuy. First place was a healthy $1400+. It would be a nice payday for 3+ hours of luck.

I made $100 for dealing and then an extra $90 in tips from the final table, overall a nice little payday for myself for doing something that i love to do.

After the game i was approached by the owner and his father. Its seems that they want to do this more often, we exchanged emails and i told i can show him a better structure and organization of how they can put on a better game. So hopefully this can turnout into a nice little job.

First post of 2009.

Thank god that the holidays are over. With overtime at work and running around getting presents for everyone its just too much stress that was unnecessary.

Looking back at my goals for 2008... pfff. Shouldn't even wrote them to being with... lets recap them...

Short and simple...
Poker.
1. Win a MTT 100+ people. Failed, (did win 2 BBT3 tournaments)
2. 1k bankroll. Success (Though it doesnt show online.. I did withdraw money to pay for golf trip)
3. Satelite into a 10k event, WSOP, WPT, whatever. Failed
4. Play more PLO. lovin it. Failed (I did play some PLO, but didnt play that much as i would like)
5. Be more aggressive. Success (At least I thought i was)
6. More smart decisions. Failed/Success. (Certain opporunities presented themselves)

Personal
1. Buy a house Failed (In the process right now, met with the realtor on Saturday, looking at properities on Sunday)
2. Prepare for marriage in Sept. Success (or fail)
3. Be with my son more. Success. Right now he is in a fun age. He is such a tank.
4. Pay off my credit cards. (2) Failed. (So close to having them done)

So I had some success and some fails. I'm happy that i won 2 blogger tourneys. But with my recent move to cash games, well have to see how many tourneys I play in BBT4. I'm guessing that this BBT4 is not for Austrailia Main Event seat.

I think i was more aggressive and did make smart decision, but every situation in poker is different, so I dont know if every situation will every be the exact same. similar but not exact.

My personal goals were somewhat reasonable. Wifey and I are in the process of buying our first home. Met with the realtor on Saturday and after the meeting was done, we both looked at each other and was like "how broke are we!" I know its going to be a lot of work and making some tough decision but its for the better.

The wedding was a great success and such a great time. we are still getting compliments from people who said it was the best wedding they were at.

The boy (Dylan) is getting so big. He is literally a tank and has so much energy. He might force me to get into better shape.

I have no interest in tournament and last nights Mookie solidified my decision not to play anymore MTTs. I'm tired of looking for that score. I'm tired of the 1, 2, and 3 outers. I'm tired of donkeys. I'm just tired of it.

I'm offically going to the grind. right 4-tabling full ring cash games. Right now thats all i can handle. I have gone up 6, but with working at home at night 4 tables is the max that will do. I have kinda also set a challenge for myselft as well. Right now i'm playing below my bankroll, I can handle higher stakes but want to start at the bottom and work my way up. I have set levels for myself to know when to move up. So far so good. I hade one losing night but it was for only a couple of bucks

The games are super soft. Softer then any tournament. IMO, all the money is in cash anyway. Maybe that should be the direction of poker. Cash Games.

High Stakes Poker is the best game to watch on TV. Also i saw Poker After Dark, had a cash game. thanks to my son, who decided to wake up at 2am, I was able to watch. The game is deeper, more exciting and it actually shows real decisions. Not math related decisions that happen more in tournaments.

The WSOP and WPT are getting boring to watch. I'm mean I watch, just because i love the game, but ESPN and WSOP, IMO failed with the delay of final table. The WPT is a sinking ship, for chirst sakes, the Borgata, the nicest casino on the East Coast doesnt even want any part of the WPT. Even the Borgata has recognize the decline of tournament poker.

The Borgata is still offering tournaments, but offering guarantees on lower buyin tourneys in the 2k, 3k and 5k range because they know its more managable for people to invest those amounts instead of 10k. and these tourneys are very very very deepstack, so in theory, you are actually playing with a cash game feel and atmosphere.

Overall deepstack poker is just better poker and its going to better the poker community in the long run.

Havent posted in awhile....

Work is extremely busy. Leading up to Christmas, this is our business.

"Black Friday" was crazy, so many of partners had huge online deals. Black Friday was surpassed by "Cyber Monday" another crazy day for our parnters.

Here is a blog for a lot of online deals. Check it out, but be careful of the days, some of the deals are only for a couple of days or even hours.

Poker lately has all been cash games. I'm simply bored to death with tournaments. They are long, painful and downright boring. Ever since this rakeback deal that i got thru RakebackPros, I have only been playing cash games.

My game selection is full ring NL Holdem and PLO 6-max. I usually 4 table splitting both NLHE and PLO. Weekdays nights I'm usually on between 10pm to midnight or later. and on weekends on Saturday night and Sunday mornings.

Playing Sunday morning is usually the toughest for me. The tables are packed with non-US players. Their play is always super aggressive its really tough. The softest are usually at night, you can really find some drunk ATMs. Eventually I will have to get PT to really analyze my hands. I only had one losing session so far.

Tonight continues Game 5 of the World Series. Big discussions on the fiasco that occurred on Monday night.

The Phillies are home. they have 12 outs vs. the 9 outs of Tampa- Advantage Phillies

The game was suspended between innings. Tampa pitching and defense gets a nice dry mound, where Cole and the Philly defense had a wet, cold field. Would Rollins make that play on Upton if the conditions were better, who knows??? Upton is fast and the play would have been close, but defintly better on a dry field.- Advantage Tampa

The Losers of the Game.
The fans, soaked, pissed, confused and cold. People left work early, spent money on parking, babysitters, hotels, plane tickets, lost game tickets (I'm sure some people lost there ticket and now wouldnt be able to get in).

The Winners of the Game.
MLB- more advertising dollars. 2 Game 5's double dollars.
The commish- Just an observation, shouldnt the commissioner of the MLB be able to recite the rule book. Saving face with the rule book in front reading word for word, making himself look like hey, its not my fault, its in the rules.

The City of Philadelphia
Hopefully they will save face with this by offering free parking for the returning fans.
Maybe the stadium will offer $1 hot dogs. Another 4 and 1/2 of consessions.
What about the empty seats in the stadium, people who flew out or drove in for the game. I just hope the stadium doesnt look empty.

Its a debacle. Its the first time in history that the World Series has been suspended. Just sucks that the city of Philadelphia has to be the ginnie-pig for this. The history of this ball club is extensive and rich, with only one championship for the team in 126 years, its our destiny to win and put an end to this diaster.

Final tabled the Bodog. (sTONe10), its not my name that is on Tilt or Stars, so I wasnt tricking anyone, but when i made the account, I wanted something different.
I also busted the account playing $25 max plo. so its needs a re-load. Dont worry, I only about 40 bucks on the site anyway.

I went out 8th for a T$ refund. So many differences between all 3 sites.

Tilt---- just seems fast. Playing tournaments or cash games, it just seems it moves fast.

Played live at a local establishment for riverchasers. The word owned doesnt describe my tourament. Actually, I just let everyone else knock each other out.

There was no significant hand prior the final table that was huge for me. Except for this one...

Folds to me in the cutoff. I open with the 6,7 of clubs. I get the SB and BB to call.

Flop comes 2,6,6.

SB leads out, BB calls, and I raise and take it down. That was about it.

Nothing too exciting.

Right before the final table is where i started to put on the pressure. I had a below average stack. The tables were condensed to two.

Its all about table draw people.

Of the two tables, my table was the weak tight group. Also, the table was chip deprived. It took me about two hands too see that everyone was folding. So I took the stragety of tight table, play fast, fast table, play tight.

Our table was badly low stack and most people only had about 3 to 4 BBs left.

Anyway, I knocked out a couple of shorties at my table, to chip up a nice stack.

Final table is set. I'm in middle position and fold to my BB. Get to my BB, at this point was 100/200 blinds. UTG+2 has only 300, he goes all in folds around to me and I call blind,
KJo vs my 8,3o. He flops a Jack, I go runner, runner for the 12th best flush. Thats how I roll.
Of course you get the comment, "How can you call with that?" in my head I was like, "Are you serious?"

I always keep my mouth shut at these freerolls because its just not worth opening your mouth to some people.

I made a move like this before the final table. I'm on the button, FOLDS around to me, I shove dark. The SB was in 50, with 100 behind and the BB was in for a 100, with 100 behind. So the between the two of them they had 350 chips. My cards could have the letter A on one and the letter B on the second, and I would still have live cards.

Anyway, I remember busting the last 5 people.

5th, my flush vs. their top two
4th my two pair, vs. one pair
3rd, my river boat, vs his turn straight (he was allin pre)

Heads-up play last six hands.
First hand i made a sick bluff with 6 high. It was so gross! He eventually said he had a bust straight draw.

Second hand, he wins. Again, i had 6 high, same hand from the first and told myself I couldnt pull it off again.

Third hand. I raise, he folds.

Forth hand, he raises, i re-pop. he folds. (I take the chip lead)

Five hand, he limps, I raise with JJ, he folds. (Second pocket pair all day)

Six hand, I min raise, he calls. Flop A, K, 6, no suits. I check, he bets, I call. Turn 9. again no flush chances. I check again, he goes allin. I call.

I flip over the weapons of mass destruction, American Airlines, the Bullets Baby!!!!

Flop top set to end the game. Collect my first place cash, sign out my first place spot. Booom!

After winning i felt like i washed away an opportunity though. Its Eagles, bye week here in Philly, and i usually as make a trip down to AC when they are on their bye, but with everything so business, I wasnt able to. It could of been my time to win a big cash tourney. Oh well.

Go Phillies. We owe the City of Tampa Bay a some payback from the Bucs, busting the Eagles in the NFC Championship to go on and win the SuperBowl and the Lighthing busting the Flyers, to go on to win the Stanley Cup.

Its been a very long time since i wrote anything... Lets see if i can remember anything from the last month and a half.

First off the Wedding....
Hurricane Ike tried to damper the day but he FAILED.
They say rain on ones wedding day is good luck so if we had a hurricane on ours, we should be????? Who knows. But the day was great, everything went smoothly. It was such a great time that we didnt want it to end. (we even extended an extra hour!!!!) As soon as the professional pictures are done i was post some.

Honeymoon....
Jamaica was great! I could have stayed there for the rest of my life...... all-inclusive of course! Drinks, food, entertainment and the surroundings were incredible. I will have a trip report later.

Yesterday was the official started of the festives. Looks like the weather didnt delay the golf outing that much from what i heard, they were able to play some holes. Its good hear because Center Square Golf Course is one of the nicest in the area. Following the golf tourney, later that night was the charity rebuy tourney. This is where i made my appearance for the weekend and was able to meet LEGENDS!

The tourney was great. The structure allowed alot of play and was slow enough to play mulitiple hands especially with the rebuys. Plus it was going to a good cause, the Suzan G. Korman Breast Cancer Foundation.

My tourney experience was blah... biggest hand for me was a set of jacks. I actually caught someone trying to lay the HAMMER down but it FAILED!

It was hard to get things going at my table. I tried to see flops but just wasnt connecting.

I got the HAMMER once and won with it, with a large re-raise, it was suited so it was the girly HAMMER.

I know i made some questionable calls and misplayed some hands and did run into some bad luck but it was a great night and was nice to put faces to blogs.

Tonight everyone is at the pub in Phoenixville. The Pub-Olympics are being held and opening ceremonies start. So if you are in the area get there!

Tomorrow will be in NYC for the Yankees vs RedSox day game. I'm not a fan of either team and could care less who wins. Just going to say that I have been in the "house that Ruth built".

We will be taking the train up, from Hamilton, NJ, to Penn Station, from their us Philadelphians will be lost getting onto the sub to get to the stadium. Any help guiding us to the right spots would be appriecated.

Monday night was a surprise home game. My friends that play came from underneath the rock to actually play. Its was 8 handed, plenty to play a tournament.

Same old, same old, $40 buy-in, T5000 chips, 15 minute levels, no antes.
Got in trouble early with KQ soooooooooted vs 44, opp flop a set, and i flop TPSK.
I called a small raise preflop. called the another small bet on the flop, hoping that my TPSK was good. turn came another Q. (rigged), so he bet the turn and I got a nasty feeling in my gut. River was blank. He bet again, now my stomach is in knots. the bet was small, and I ended up calling, losing 1/5 of my starting stack. luckly it was early. so I still had time.

Before we saw the flop, my oppenent said he had a pair. Knowing his betting size i knew it was small pair and not a large one. When he bet the turn, I had a strong feeling I was beat, but I just dont see how i can lay down trips early, especially to LAGTARD, who says he isnt, but really is.

Anyway, I chipped up nicely from there, with no real confrontation. I was able to take out the, the LAGtard, with 66 vs A9, on the money bubble. Heads up I had a 3:1 chip lead. Offered my oppenent an extra $20, to ended it there, so we could play cash. He agreed and I took $200 instead of $220. Ended the night with $160 profit from the tourney. then we played cash for an hour. Broke even.

Sunday
Played for free. Local bar. Made the final table, busted out 7th. Alot of pushmonkeys. I had a decent stack before the final table, but I couldnt win a race with 55 vs AJ. He hit an Ace the turn. and I was drawing to one out, cuz the girl next to me muck a five in the big blind.

this is my only pet peeve from that game. the same girl who mucked the five. got to the final table with 150 in chips. blinds were 50-100, when we started the final table. she had 4 hands before she would be in the big bling, so at the start she was UTG+2. Anyway she folds to her big blind. Now she sits in the BB, with 150 chips and 100 in the BB. the SB is another girl with an average stack. it folds around. neither the hi-jack or button raises this girls BB. the SB FOLDS K6 soooooted. to the BB. FOLDS and shows her K-high. the girl gets a walk in her BB.

Next hand she has 200 and 50 is in the SB. 3 people limp, she puts in her last 200. Her flush is the winner and quadsurpales up to 800. Now an above average stack. She ended up taking out 9th, 8th and 7th spots (<---- me) and was the CL when i busted. Started the final table with 1 BB and 1 SB. Poker...... luck, skill, and stupidity.

What is about it, that you see the most ridiculous suckouts on FTP?

Yes I have had my share against people and people against me.

But last night I had a brutal one.

I have been playing the 28k guarantee recently, and have been getting killed. I'm playing a looser game in the beginning to try to double. But last night the cards did not allow me to do that, so i had this tight image.

Anyway.... I was able to double before the break up to 4k or so. after the break, the cards were still no good. then in full tilt fashion you get this streak of cards that you have to play.

Within this streak I had pocket 9's. I was UTG+1.

UTG opens for 400. We are about even in chips, he has me cover about 500 or so. I wish i could get the hand history off my computer, but something is all jacked up.

Looking back, I never finished my trip report from Myrtle Beach. I will end it now.

3rd day of Golf.

Played WickedStick fatass, lazyass, drunkass, stupidass, brokeass, One time major winner John Daly signuature course. Damn thing was so long. God bless golf carts.

The day started awful. After putting some sunblock on, I decided to run over a stoned in plant area with the golf cart. Took out about four mason stones and got a talkin to by the golf ranger. I didnt even have a drink in hand yet and I'm already hitting things.

Golf was ok. Not as great as the day before but it was ok. Highlight of the course was the hot ass smokin cart girl. Southern bell with, a tiny tight ass and rock hard body.

Of course I had to try and kick game to her. It was the 2nd time she had come around and there was a break in the action. We started talking, asking questions, seeing where she was from, what school, this that, etc. But before this all happen I knew, I remember seeing her somewhere. It was the night before at Fat Tuesday, she was the beer tub girl. Well not really but she was helping a friend. Not even realizing how long we were talking, the groups behind us caught up. Must of been 20 to 25 minutes. She was so hot. Damn if I wasnt engaged.... shit I would still be a little bitch and do nothing but stare and dream about her.

Anyway golf was golf. Miss drive here, chip well there, miss putt here. Just an okay day nothing major, it was just a very long course, but was to be expected.

Saw the cart girl for the last time on 18th. Ask what she would be doing that night and said, "Probably going to Fat Tuesday again". I was like "See ya there!" We have been going there everynight and hanging out at all the bars here.

After dinner, we headed there for another drunken coma party. The place is great. It has everything for everyone cant go wrong.

Never saw our cart girl from the course, but we ran into the waiteress that served us from the previous nite. Have to say the night she was serving us, wasnt all that impressed. She seem kinda dirty, grubby, unkepmt, just not put together well. But what a change that night. A hair straightener, a shower, some makeup, a white tube top and some jean cuchie cutters and we were in business.

Between her and my father-in-law and I dont know who was flirting more. We took a couple of pictures, (made sure they were deleted), bought them a couple of drinks, (extra shot included) and hung out for the better part of night. She brought a friend along with, she wasnt as hot, but I wouldnt kick her out of bed. I ended up talking to her for a while. Same song and dance with every girl down there. I go to Coastal Carolina, (college close to Myrtle Beach), I play a sport (soccer, which was cool, cuz I played in school as well). Blah, Blah.

Ended up saying our goodbyes, as a couple "pop the collar" "tony tough nutz" whose arms are to big for their sleeves, too much gel and frost in their hair rolled in. You know the ones you see in Jersey that think they own every girl in the club. Plus it was time to move to new bar.

Ended up going to a bar to watch the only win the flyers would get in the ECC series against the Pens.

Decided that beer was cheaper back at the condo and bounce. Got back stayed up til 3 or 4 playin drinking games until we couldnt see straight.

Day 4
Golf was ok. Played here. It was probably the worst of the courses that we played down there. Also the worst day of golf for me, it started to hit me that 4 days of golf, sun, and drinking were catching up. I quit on hole 15. I swung and hit the ball about 10 in front and couldnt stop laughing. I was done. Cool part of the day was seeing the alligator on 18 in the swap/water the was along side 18. Probably about 7 to 8 feet long.

Headed back to the condo, for some food and rest. Last night of fun and drinks. Plan was go to Crocodile Rocks. We had a reserved table cuz that how we roll, plus the guys knew it was the way to go.

This place was off the hook. The best night I probably ever had in a bar. Its highly recommended to go to a place like this. Between music, alochol and boobies. Its a win, win!

Next day was leaving day.

Good thing our flight wasnt til 8pm we all were hungover, so we slept in very late. Hung out at the pool and drank what was left of the beer. It was a really great time. Hopefully I'm lucky enough to be invited again next year.

Anyway.

Wednesday still in Myrtle Beach, 2nd full day of activities (golf and drinking).

Woke up a little hangoverish on Wednesday after first titty bar night. Luckly tee time was the lastest of the 4 days so had time to shower and eat which helped alot.

Went to a place called 'Eggs Up Grill', nice smallest breakfast place. Got 3 eggs overeasy, BACON, and my grits, with added butter and maple syrup. Awesome!! Hit the spot!

Got back to the condo and gathered the rest of the troops who didnt wake up for breakfast.

Golf Course today was called the "International Club". Nice place, though they were working on some of the greens, but still not as nice as the first place. It would be here though, I would have my best day of golf.

Format was the same, best ball, but groups were divided into 3,3 and 4. Each group of 3, would rotate an extra shot. My group consisted of my best man, also a future brother-in-law and one of the guys who owned the condo we were staying and friend of my future father-in-law, his name is Mike. So Mike, Steve and myself were the first to tee off. At this point we didnt even look back.

Long story short, we ended the day -8, we me making 6 out of 8 birdie putts. No Bogeys!!!

5 of my 6 putts we in 10 feet but the one that started the string of birdies was from 45 feet!!!!!!! No joking around in was just on the green hugging the fring, but still on the green. It had the right speed and distance. It was slightly left to right and downhill, but it snaked its way to the bottom of the cup. This is the first putt I have ever hit like that. So in Corey fashion i had to run around the green, pretending to be riding a horse with my putter and ending it with the Chi Chi Rodriguez putter sword act, to the group that was on the tee behind us.

So it was the best round of the week for me.

So after that we stop for lunch for food and drinks. We were deciding again of what we were going to do for the night. This place was mention. Its called Broadway at the Beach. A huge entertainment area, with mulitiple stores, resturants and bars.

Good times doesnt explain the happenings at this place. So good that we ended up going to this place for the final 3 nights.

The first night we had dinner at a place call "Senor Frog". Which i knew or thought of being a night club.

Well dinner was okay, nothing special, actually probably the only dissappointment the entire trip.

See when I'm down south and especailly near the ocean, all I want is seafood. Shrimp, clams, oysters, fish and everything else seafood. I love it. But ended up going to a fake Mexican joint was just a letdown. I'm not one to complain and I eat anything anyway so it was ok. The only thing that made up for the lack of food was the drinks. Senor Frog had "yard" drinks. You know, the big drinks fill to the top. I'm not one for mixed drinks plus i havent really found one I really like. So a Yard of Lager was my choice, well actually 2 Yards. (I finished the 2nd one while walking around)

After walking around for about 10 minutes to see the other bars, we all decided to go Fat Tuesdays. Having never been to one before, I knew they were all about mixed and frozen drinks. The drink to have was a 190 Octane. Pretty much vodak, Barcadi 151 and Everclear, and for a $1 an extra shot. I think Everclear is grain alcohol, or something like it. It taste so good you dont know that it hits you until later.

Well this is the night where I saw my father-in-law get completely drunk off his ass. His decision to have a salad and a Yard of Long Island Ice Tea, and 2 190 Octane drinks completely made him shit face. I never laughed so hard, in my entire life. It was great.

After we all had 2 drinks from Fats. We heard a band and walked to go see them. Stage was set up in an alley type walk way, with bars on each side. Tons of people. Tons of hot smokin girls, shot girls and beer girls. Awesome sight, I might of have whiplash from the night looking around so hard. Southern girls are so damn hot and nice. Definatly bring home to mom types.

While standing around listening and watching the band, it was clear that it was time to leave but for home??????

Nope! On the way home, another titty bar awaited us. The Penthouse Club. The oldest gentlemen on the trip started the chant. Penthouse!! Penthouse!! Penthouse!! We all agreed on one drink. Well we all know that one drink means 3 hours later and more then one drink. Well this place was much nicer and cleanier then the Pink Pony. We were all seated towards the back of the club, and had a couple of waiteress taking our order.

After a little bit and starting my second beer, i get this whisper in my ear. "You have been auctioned off to me." I turn around and witness the most amazing girl i have laid eyes on. I turn around say "Who did this?" and she pointed to my best man Steve. "Go have fun man!" I say "thanks dude!" Mean while, my father-in-law is also in the "dance room". I follow her lovely round ass to the room.

Ok, this may be a shock to some, but this is my first lap dance. Ever. Remember, I'm not a fan of being teased at these joints. I hate being dick teased.

Well I fell in love. I think I found the love of my life, besides my fiance and son. But this girl was incredible. I loved every fucking second of it.

I'm NOW A FAN OF LAP DANCES!!!!!

It was so good, that I went back for seconds and thirds, and fourths. Luckly one was buy one get two. Nice!!!!!!

Before I start my trip report I have some sad news.

For those in the area, there was tragic accident on a construction site on early Thursday morning. An employee of Verizon, was working on a project on 202 (major highway), moving or hanging cable wire across a road on an overpass. Slack in the cable was caught by a passing truck, the cable snap back into my best friends dad, knocking him off an overpass onto the road below. He suffer major head trauma and was pronouced dead at the scene. It has been a hard time for my friend and his family.

Please keep my best friend and his family in your prayers during the very tragic and rough time.

Last time i lefted off was Tuesday afternoon, finishing the 1st round of 4 of golf for the week. The first round was probably my worst round of the week too.

So after the round we were all dying of food and drinks. So we stopped at the first bar/resturant. We all got some food and drinks and talked about where we would watch the flyers game that night. (Game 3)

The folks that were down here last year said that there was a "Philly Bar" in the area and it would be a good place to watch the Flyers. There was only one problem..... No one knew where it was.

When we got back to the condo, they tried looking it up on the web. They found an address (of what they thought was the place) and typed it into the GPS. After about a hour of driving around we couldnt find the place. So we ended up going to a very well known sports bar in the area. Problem #2..... It had a Pittsburg Steelers logo on the front of the building!!!!! Pittsburg fucking Steelers!!!!! The majority of us had flyers gear on and we're not scared to sit in a Pittsburg bar. But I have to say, it was pretty much half pengiuns fans and half flyers fan, so at least we werent alone.

I do have to say one thing about the place, that had a slight pengiuns dominance. Game 3 was the first game in Philly and it was the day after they had buried the Sgt. who was killed in the line of duty. (who was huge flyers fan) The flyers had a moment of silence for the slained officer. After the moment of silence, the whole bar clapped when the honored him and his family before the game. In the mist of an Eastern Confernce Final, people still have the respect to those who protect and serve. It was a real nice to see and hear, in a very large bar.

Well game 3 turned out to be awful for Philly fans. The flyers were slow and outplayed. They showed no heart and determination. They played a way better team in the pengiuns, then the 2 series before.

Though we were in another teams bar, at least we werent booooed out of the place. There was an occasional, "flyers suck", "Biron blows" and "Philly blows", but we just responed with "Fuck You!!!!", its easy, simple and straight to the point.

After a dispointing loss, it was time to get fucked up. We all headed back to the towards the condo, until we passed the "Titty bar" aka "The Pink Pony". The place was packed with bikers.

Oooooh did I mention that it was "Bike Week". Bike Week, didnt officially start until the next day, but all of them were already down from the start of the week and the ones coming in, seem to go straight to the club.

I'm going to say this right now. I'm not a "fan" of the titty bar. Yes, I have a penis. Yes, I'm engaged to a girl. Yes, I have been to many different ones, dirty and nice. But for me the titty bar is a big fucking tease. But I will NOT turn down a nice rack in my face. I just dont want to pay for lap dance and at the end of it be ready to "go at it". Its a tease and I want more. Plus on this night, my best man, my future brother-in-law was working on beer #36, so i had to watch out for him. Yes 36 beers through out the day.

Anyway, the titty bar was packed with bikers and it wasnt the cleanest or nicest of strip joints, that I have been in.

But being down there during bike week was incredible. Choppers, Harleys, custom bikes, three wheel bikes, and some sport/rocket bikes, were all over the place. It really made me to start to think about getting one. But what kind???? I really dont think, I saw the saw bike twice. Each one was different. They might of been the same model, but the paint jobs, the added features, the lenght, the thickness, the power, all made them different. God I want a bike!

I was talking to my dad about how it was bike week down there and I told him about wanting to have one, then he had to remind me of my son and family. Booooo, what a hypercrit, he had 2 bikes at my age, thats until he met my mother. Soon after they were both gone. What a pussy, my dad..... haha just kidding. But he said for him they are too dangerous, too many assholes with cars, who dont know how to drive. But he did say, there is a 25% chance of maybe getting one.

Hopefully one day, mostly likely after the family is complete, that I will get a bike or I hit the lottery.

Golf, Beer, Biker Week, and $400 for the Eagles fight song. part 1

I had a great week. Awesome friggin time!!! Exactly what I needed as work was getting on my nerves.

Monday

I worked til 12noon. I literally ran out like the place was on fire. I got outside and let out the largest "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM" known to man. I got home, had a sandwich and beer, and threw my bags into, my future brothers-in-law truck, with my future father-in-law and other future brother-in-law and headed to pick up the friends of my FFinL for the trip.

Met up with the guy who is a co-worker of my FFinL (Future Father-in-law) at his his house and threw in more bags. We also had another stop in the city to pick the other 2 two, who had to work til 3pm, for payroll reasons, no clue why, as they were the owners. So before we had to pick them up, we had 45 minutes to kill, luckly Chubbys and Delisanoros (spelling???) and the decision was either Chubbys with a bar and beer in resturarnt or Deli's with no beer. So half went to Chubbys and the other half to Deli's. So an American without, cuz thats how I roll, and ice cold Lager (Yuelning, spelling???), but its called Lager, everywhere else you have to call in the Y-word.

After lunch, picked the other two guys and headed down to AC International Airport. Boy, its been a long time since I have been on airplane. I felt like a little kid on Christmas, no fear of flying here.

But also never been through the security checks and needing to be there extra early. But this had an upside. EXTRA TIME AT THE BAR!!!!!!!!!!! Completely shitty does not explain the mess I was before getting on the plane. I was a mess. Only thing I hated about the plane ride was with such a short flight meant, not a long time that you move around or get to the bathroom. Especially when I broke the "seal" before getting on the plane.

1hour 10minute flight, went real quick and we were down, got our bags and packed it in the 15 passenger van, although there 10 of us. The airport and the condo's were less then 15 minute drive. The two guys, who were brother-in-laws, each had there own condo, so we split 5 and 5.

The condo was awesome, large bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen, a screened-in porch and a pool outside the backdoor. We all got unpack, which was just throwing our bags in our rooms and walked over to the other condo, (which was right behind the one i was staying at) and headed to the bar. Some were hungry and others were just thirsty, so the place of Hooters was decided. I took the liquid route with some added apptiezers. I really hate Hooters food, its has to be a grade above dog food. After some 10-12 pitchers between the 10 of us, we decided to go and pick up beer for the 2 condo's.

One thing I hate about the supermarkets or grocery stores up in Pa. is that they dont sell alochol or beer within the stores. It makes it so more conviented. Lets see if I remember correctly...

After the short trip to the store, we headed back to the place to drink some more. Next thing you know its 230 am and completely wasted! I told myself go to bed and be ready for golf. So i finished my beer and put myself to bed.

I stumbled over to the other condo, took my anit-hangover medicine of 4 extra strenght Tynenol and a bottle of water. It really works, your body might be dragging but no headache, which is the worst part of a hangover. Drank that down and i think i was asleep before my head hit the pillow. Golf was early at 930, but luckly the course was on the property of the condo's, so it would be a short trip.

Tuesday

Woke up feeling shitty, but no headache, but after a good hot shower, I was back feeling good. Tee time was 935, so we all left early to get some practice swings and putts in. After swing the clubs the week before, I was ready to go and stayed on the practice putting green more then normal.

The night before we drew numbers to see who would be playing with who. My group consisted of me, Mark, Tom Sr, (my FFinL) and Mark son Anthony. With ten guys, we played a better ball format in 2's. So there was one group that had to go by themselves.

My group was second to go off, we determined who was first by throwing the tee to see who was first, second, third and fourth. With my bad luck i was first. Nothing like a gallery watching you swing, especially with a drinking fest the night before.

Hole 1 was a slight dog leg right par 4, with water on the left, trees on the right and a creek that protected the green right in front. So I tee'ed it up, took out the big dog and let him ate. Boy did he ever.... a bunch of tree bark!

This was a sign to come. Not feeling well, body not in golfing shape, bright sun, empty stomach and a bet with the other twosome in my group. The bet was just between the four of us, lowest score wins.

Fastforward to the turn, Driver is now put away for the day and the 3 wood or 2 iron is in use for long distance holes. We started 10, only down 2 shots, so we were right there.

Three holes later we are down 5 shots, 3 straight birdies for our competition, with our 3 staright par's. So starting 13 down 5 with 6 to play and the wheels started to come off. No birdies, 3 pars and 3 bogeys, while our competition when 6 staright pars, to lose by 9 strokes.

I blame myself for that choke arstist display of golf. I couldnt get off the tee well enough and missing important putts caused my team to be man-handled by a team who had a long accurate driver and a man who plays a short game very well.

When it came down to the final table, the reigning Card Player Online Player of the Year, Isaac Baron (pictured at right), was still in the hunt, playing as the guru 11 (rather than his retired Full Tilt screen name, mjorgenson13).

But since when does Full Tilt allowed muliltiple handles per person?

This is where i think muliti-accounting is not define clearly. Yes there are a number of players who were caught with mulitple accounts playing at the same time on the same table or same tournament. That is multi-accounting.

But asking for an account name change is not multi-accounting, but by Full Tilt rules it is.

So how can they allow this kid to keep this "new" handle and not have him play under his "retired" one. This is where Rule #2 is clearly broken by this online pro and its clear as day.

no these are not lottery numbers.....

let me explain.

2- the number of birdies i had on Saturday. It was my first day out on the golf course.

3- the number of pars i had on Saturday.

90- my score for the day. there were some pretty hard pin placements, especially for a golf course that was once a dog track.

6- the number of days of work i have left until I leave for Myrtle Beach, for 4 days of golf.

5- the numbers of games it took my fly guys to beat, those overrated Canadians.

8- the number of goals RJ Umeberger had throught out the series, scoring on teenager.

Flyers move on to the Eastern Conference Finals, verus interstate rival Pittsburg. Who have had an easy walk through the playoffs. They have no idea what they are up against in Philly.

The series will go probably 7, but wishing for 6. With Philly on top and represtin' the East.

No desire to blog. But i have been playing, just not as much as I did in March. Whats the point if I'm not contending for a 2k seat.

Though the list of TOC seat qualifiers is getting tougher, my chances for the ME Seat are sliming too.

Still pondering if the miracle does really happen, if i would go or not. If its a 10k package, I would take the cash or T$, assuming airfare and hotel are not included. if its a 12k package which includes airfare and hotel, I'll be in Vegas for my birthday.

You are probably thinking missing the WSOP ME, are you crazy????, a great opportunity to play in the biggest poker tournament.....

i do have my reasons for taking the cash or T$. (in not particular order)

Time off from work, would be hard. With a my ball and chain day in September, its going to be hard to take however long i'm out there for. Plus if i do go out, I'm not really sure if I would leave.

Me turning 10k into millions=slim to none. The ME is a lottery ticket, too many people playing stupid and getting lucky, the 10k is worth more then 0$ for a suckout.

Bankroll. 10k would be a huge bounce up in my roll. It can do a lot of things for my me and family. Besides my family comes before a poker dream.

this is still a long shot. A 2 out of 53 longshot. the TOC is getting a lot a aggressive MTT players and I'm not one of them.

Besides that, I playing satelities into the FTOPS and majors. I won a seat into FTOPS event #1, but decided to take the T$. There is a super soft SnG for $8.80 a 36 people turbo 6-max SnG. So far I think I played it about 5 times. Although i didnt win the seat here, I have come very close with a 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, and then bounce early in my last one.

Also FTOPs, has mystery tournaments, that have not been decided yet. Hopefully one of the tournaments is a "shootout format". Pokerstars, has these and if FullTilt is able to duplicate this format, it would be great at more satelite chances to some more major tourneys.

Also a mystery tournament is hosted by Paul Waskica, isnt it obv. that it's a heads up MTT. Question is, how many people will get in that? That would be sick.

I had a 3rd place finish in a $10 KO SnG, plus a couple of KOs bounties.

I lost complete focused in the Skillz game, as I was going to make more money in the SnG, and wasnt even close to the money in the Skillz game. I dont even know how I want out of the Skillz game.

But being in the black for the night is alway good.

Congrats to John, on winning the first 2k WSOP seat. He played really well in March and good luck to him in the tourney he decides to play.

April starts a new month and i really doubt that I will have one like i did in March. I won my first 2 blogger tourney and finish in 6th place overall for the month. Only me and Lucko had 2 win tournies. It was real close and it came down to the last event to determine the winner. There were 6 of us coming close to the seat.

April starts off with Skillz Series. Limit Omaha /8. I hate this game. Probably not a good game to start the month off with to make a run for the seat.

My weekend poker was awful. I have a bunch of hand histories to look through. I know i made a staright flush w/ a suited hammer.

I cant satelite into the bigger tournies to save my life, (like i would play them anyway) and I keep getting raped in SNG at all levels.

Oh well....

If it wasnt for being disconnected at the wrong time, maybe i would finish a little deeper. I had 20k+ stack with 9 left, get disconnected and by the time i get back its the final table and half my stack is gone. Oh well.

I'm just glad that i'm running well, now I know what it feels like when things go your way.

Good news I finish in front of the top 3 of the leaderboard. Gained some ground, but a win would have put me in good shape for the 2k package. Its going to be a good race, with 3 events left for the end of the month prize.

Decided to skip the Mookie, for some home game action. Boy did i get hit with the deck.

The game was 8-handed, $40 buyin T5000 stacks

First hand of the night.
QQ, raise to 300 after some open limpers. and get 5 callers. Awesome.

Flop KJ5, rainbow.

BB was first to act, after the SB, folded pre, and leads for for T1000 UTG+1, and UTG+2 fold. I tank and think for 2 minutes and fold. and the button folds. BB shows AK, and i show him QQ. No big deal minimal loss.

Second hand of the night.
Again QQ, Yes again, (and we play w/ two decks). fold, fold, I again raise to 300. One caller.

Flop, AK6,

I'm OOP and check, and get a check behind.

Turn, 3, harmless.
I bet 500 and get min-raise behind. Tank again, and lay it down, and show the QQ again, and he shows a set of 6's. Again a small loss, w/ a premium hand.

Couple of hands later.....

Pick up AKs in diamonds, blinds are now 50-100
I raise 450, get two callers.
Flop Q,10,6 two diamonds.
Three checks.
Turn 9 diamonds.
Check, i bet, Fold Fold.

Picking up my chips from the first two hands

Again couple of hands later. KK is good, with a limper and blinds.

I pick up 88 in the SB.
I call a raise, from a late position player. as does the BB and the UTG+2

Flop comes 8,7,5.
I lead out small
BB folds UTG+2 calls and late poistion folds.
Turn 2, now with two clubs.

I push All-in. UTG+2 tanks and thinks for bit. Ends up calling, with a pair and flush.

River 8,

I'm now the big stack.

I'm in the BB, with K2 off. 2 limpers and and SB completes and I check my option.

K27, two spades.

I lead out again. 2 calls,

River J, no flush, but complete a staright.

I check, 2nd player checks, last to act. throws out 1600 which was a little over half the pot.
(2nd player mucks before I act),
I sit and think, now that my two pair is trumped. He was a shorty, and I had a big stack, and decided to look him up. His busted pair and flush missed and I take it down. KJ and K9, are not out of his range in late position, so I had to think if the two pair was good and it was.

I'm now a monster.

I give a few chips back, when my 10s are no good against AJ, against a shorty.

Then a 2nd player started to chip up nicely after knocking out 2 shortys and at one point we were close in chips, but I still held the lead.

Then the monster of all hands comes up.

Blinds are now 200/400 and now 4 handed. Top 2 get paid.
I'm in the BB w/ 88.

2nd chip stack is UTG, and raises to 1300, button folds, SB folds. and I flat call.
I hate playing against the 2nd big stack at the table.

Flop 10,8, 2, w/ 2hearts.

I fired 1800.
Not as soon as the chips hit the table, I hear "All-in"
We are just about even, and I had about 1100 more then he did.
I took my time and though about what he might of had.

set of 10s, flush draw, can i dodge his overcards, (was he playing his J9s, again, that he took two shortys out with). I kept asking questions, "Mike you got a set of 10s?" Mike, how big is pair?" Mike, its a flush draw, right?" Range is big, especially 4 hand.

I finally put him on overs, and I call. Probably the biggest call I have made, going agaist some w/ about the same # of chips.

I flip my set of 8's and he flips his two QQs w/ a bookdoor flush draw.,
Turn and river brick. BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and I rake a huge pot, and now have a very large chip lead compared to the other two.

I then play big stack poker and knock the 3rd place guy. With A9, vs KQ and the A9, holds.

Heads up. The other agress to take 2nd place money. Which is double the buy-in, and I take 1st $240.

I wish i had some exciting poker related news for my 100th post, but I dont.

But i do have some news pertaining to my summer. Me and my "future in-laws" have booked a huge golfing trip in 2 months. My FFIL (future father in-law), has a buddy who has a condo, on this place and has invited him and three friends. All that we have to pay for is the airfare, food and drinks.

It all kicks off May 12th and goes to May 18th. A week of golf and drinking. I was told to get my liver ready!!!! Should be a great time.

I played in some token SnGs this morning, deciding if I should play Hoy's game tonite.

This lucksack took down the Big Game last nite. For someone who doesnt even need to satelite his way into the World Series or needs the money, comes into the game and plays freeroll monkey donkey poker. We can probably thank Riggs for Scott's appearance, as they are ghey for each other. Scott absolutely got hit with the deck, with every possible hand.

Being a Philly sports fan and sports fan overall, and I'm not playing as much (for right now), I'm going to blog about some sports.

Baseball is on the horizon. With pitchers and catchers reporting last week, the boys of summer will be here in no time.

But before they can play, they can have some fun.

I really wished they could settle this before the aribritation case began for a couple reasons.

1. Is 3million a huge difference? Especially, when he will get a long term mulit-million contract.

2. The Phillies had the taste of playoffs last year and after seeing that the crappy/choke artists Mets signed one of the best pitchers, that is not on steriods or HGH (maybe, who knows who is using in this league) in the league. You would think Our 2006 MVP, would accept the 7 million, and say, spend the extra 3 on some pitching.

After the Mets signing of Santana, they are now the frontrunners for NL East division. A division that Atlanta once owned is now a 3 horse race, between, Philadelphia, NewYork, and Atlanta. This division is one of the best in baseball.

Hockey.

Its still cold out, so hockey is still playing. Well I think it is. My fly guys are on season worst 8 game skid. They always seem to do this. Play well for a while and then shit the bed.
